Friends
Never had many at one time. Of course you have to clarify "friend". Big difference between friends and aquaintenances (hope it's not mispelled). Been part of churches with lots of people somewhere between friend and aquaintance. Only recently learning what real friends are. Ones who know ALL your dark secrets and still think you are a cool person since they see your heart. Thought I had a best friend last year - but one small incident, provoked by someone else!, and POOF!, no more friend. Have had two close friends for over 10 years now and one is overseas and the other living in another state. But they have maintained our friendship with not only take, but give. Have siblings that have become close friends, a big improvement from when we were growing up. But the one BEST friend that never fails me, Jesus Christ. He loves me, even when I am at my worst. And being bipolar, that is a more time than I like. But He has told me that I am loved and acknowledged my worth as a person. He has guided me to care that I need and reassured me that medication does not diminish my value. He has encouraged me to be my best and loved me at whatever level I find myself, along with the other friends He has planted in my current place to grow.
Health and Such
FINALLY getting off the crutches! When the last storm system moved in - so did the FMS / arthritis in my right hip / leg. Actually pulled a muscle or something in my left knee while sitting in a chair during a wedding! Had some horrible pain there - supposed to get new x-rays soon. Going to try to lose more weight this year to help my joints. Hate the lack of mobility. Except for church, don't get out much. My church is so understanding about my stuff - they never make me feel weird for needing to sit down on a chair during worship singing or even while teaching or speaking. Hopefully will have bicycle fixed sometime soon so I can get more exercise that won't strain my knees. Can't navigate steps well yet, but need exercise to strengthen the muscles and reduce problems. Tired of sitting so much. But can't complain too much - others in the world are worse off.
This New Year
Things are looking up. Great church, good friends there. Positive changes being made there and in my life.
New grandson who calls me Nana ;-D Plans for sushi on my birthday. New Jacklyn Smith wig for my present. Have good friends who don't think I'm weird for loving to wear different wigs. Possibly taking piano lessons this year. Wonder how many relatives in Glasgow remember Amber? They haven't seen her since she was 3. She's 31 now and mother of two. Very proud of her. My sons are in Indy - hope to see them this year for sure. Got a head start on this week's church bulletin that I do each week. Hope to lose more weight this year. Looked into bariatric surgery - but the restrictions are so severe - better to try to do it on my own. Can't fathom NO carbonated water or beverages EVER! Have lost 6 lbs since last medical visit - so good start.
